Tonights full moon : Harvest moon

September brings us the Harvest Moon, sometimes referred to as the Wine Moon or the Singing Moon. This is the time of year when the last of the crops are being gathered from the fields and stored for the winter. There's a chill in the air, and the earth is slowly beginning its move towards dormancy as the sun pulls away from us.

Correspondences:

  • Colors: Browns and greens, earth tones
  • Gemstones: Citrine, chrysolite, peridot, bloodstone
  • Trees: Bay, larch, hawthorn
  • Gods: Demeter, Brighid, Freyja, Vesta
  • Herbs: Wheat, valerian, witch hazel, skullcap
  • Element: Earth

This is a month of hearth and home. Spend some time preparing your environment for the upcoming chilly months. If you don't already have one, set up a hearth or kitchen alter for those times when you're cooking, baking and canning. Use this time to clear out clutter -- both physical and emotional -- before you have to spend the long winter days inside.

Also Known As: Wine Moon, Singing Moon

Is anyone planning on doing anything special tonight?

I have been out of it the past few days and I didnt have time to write up a post about this months full moon.I found this info here.I might come back and post something else later.

Sounds like time to get cozy with September being the month of Hearth and Home. A month of preparing for the up and coming winter.
Time to decorate my hearth:)

I leave out a plate of food alot of nights.Im not sure why I started doing that, it just seemed like the right thing to do.Since Im so new to everything, and solitary,I just wing most things :)
So I will put out a plate and I will probably also put out the few crystals I have.I also have some moon water that I collected last full moon and maybe I will put that out there also.I'll just wait till later and do what strikes me.I do wish I had a bit more direction with everything.I feel lost alot so I want to thank you all for sharing with me :)

Hello, crazy squirrel lady...(just what is it about squirrels that you love?)
I've just read Loads of your posts and love them...you were quite right about that obnoxious girl and your mum...no one has the right to treat any person like that!
Our moon magick is, just going outside (if the weather's not too revolting...it's very wet in North Wales!) and gazing at her...and blowing her a big kiss...my children love doing that...(well, the younger ones do, my eldest wouldn't be seen dead kissing the moon!)
Love your blog!

Thanks Celia!!
I love everything about squirrels from their fuzzy little tails to the cute little noses, and every fuzzy thing in between.Plus I think they are hilarious :)

The moon last night was AMAZING! I was out for some friday night football ( my sons team stomped the other team!! Whoo hoo) and to be honest I glanced away from the field many many times to look up at her.She was stunning!
I think blowing kisses to the moon is the SWEETEST! :D

We were camping...what could be better? In nature, grounding myself, and enjoying the gorgeous harvest moon. It was amazing!
