Since I am a solitary and new to my path I have been trying to read everything I can get my hands on.The library is my BFF.There are a few books that I have read and put down almost as soon as I picked it up.And then there are a few that I LOVE and keep renewing from the library ( Im going to have to give in and just buy them). But does anyone have any books that they can recommend? Any book that spoke to you the minute you cracked the cover? I would greatly appreciate the input. Here are a few books I have already read, and maybe re-read :
- Paganism : an introduction to earth-centered religions - Joyce Higginbotham
- The complete idiots guide to Paganism - Carl McColeman
- Paganism : A beginners guide - Teresa Morrey
- The craft: A witch's book of shadows - Dorothy Morrison
- Grimoire for the green witch - Aoumiel
- Natural witchery - Ellen Dougan
- Solitary witch: The ultimate book of shadows - Silver Ravenwolf
- Crafting wiccan traditions :creating a foundation for your spiritual beliefs - Raven Grimassi
- Wicca : A guide to the solitary practitioner - Scott Cunningham

Hi CSL -- I generally like any book by these authors, but the titles listed in brackets were ones that I particularly found useful when I first started on the Goddess path: D.J. Conway (Maiden, Mother, Crone); Barbara G. Walker (The Skeptical Feminist: Discovering the Maiden, Mother and Crone. Also: Women's Rituals: A Sourcebook); Patricia Monaghan (The Goddess Path. Also: The Goddess Companion).
Thanks SO much Debra!!I have not read any of those. I am off to order them through my library right now :)
Thanks again, and if you think of any others let me know!
Hi there,
I would begin at the beginning with books by Gerald Gardner, Dorothy Morrison and Isaac Bonewits.
If you are interested in the true history of the neopagan movement, I would definitely read, "Triumph of the Moon" by Ronald Hutton and "Drawing Down the Moon" by Margot Adler.
There's a book called, Pagan Ways, by Gwyddion O'hara that I absolutely love.
You might want check out one of my favorite authors and my High Priestess, "Way of Four", "Elements of Ritual".
Here is the link to a youtube video from a very well-respected Pagan, Charming Pixie Flora.
She goes over many great books and the first time I watched this, I jotted them all down and have been buying from that list.
Hope it helps!
